Are Pageviews Obsolete?

Over on evhead, Evan Williams makes an argument that the often used stat of pageviews is mostly meaningless and is due to be retired along with the "hits" stat that it replaced. He argues that reach is a much better statistic and even suggests a potentially better stat, time spent on site.

I tend to agree that Reach is a more meaningful stat than Pageviews and I think that time spent on site might be worth a try. It is an interesting article and I would recommend it to all Alexaholics.
