One of the things I love about Alexa's Movers and Shakers is that you can sometimes find the cool thing everyone's clicking on--even if you're too busy to comb the websites like Slashdot and Digg that track these sorts of things. Such is the case with the adorable screen cleaner flash file on linein.org. On a day when at least three of our ten Movers concern memorial surfing to sites dealing with the deceased actor Heath Ledger, it's nice to have a puppy clean your screen. [Note: that little puppy is still so darn popular since being unleashed on the cute-susceptible on January 11; the site continues to intermittently go down because of what seems likely to be a new traffic onslaught.]
The bigger story of this batch of Movers, though, is that near-vertical line on the graph for Qtrax, a new, free, legal peer-to-peer music downloading service. According to this story, that line is a mirror of what happened to the company's stock shortly after their new website launched--in reverse. Apparently, people began to note very little There there; far fewer tunes were actually available than had been forecast. Oddly, that site's not loading very reliably today either.
